Five years ago, we met our soulmates but had no idea at the time. Years went by as friends and co-workers. We always laughed, talked and would check on one another but never would have dreamed that a wedding would be in our future. As the years passed and life led us in two different directions, we remained friends but from afar.
Fast forward to January 19, 2017. That was our “first date.” Shannon thought it was just a dinner, Adam thought it was a date. We still debate this and love that it was each of our perceptions at the time.
There was no question that by the end of dinner it was a “date.” We talked so comfortably & for so long that the restaurant basically told us to leave because it had gotten too late and they were trying to close.
Shannon did show up with gifts prior to the dinner date; not for Adam, but for Colt.
Our first trip together was to Napa Valley in April. Our first “I love you” was in Seattle in July.
We each fell in love with one another’s family and friends- instantly.
Adam knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Shannon and asked her to marry him (already knowing what her answer would be) on December 30th, 2017, he says “it was the easiest decision of his life,” despite two whole days of Shannon pouting because Adam did a terrible job of keeping the proposal a surprise. 🙂
Today, we are so humbled and blessed to say that God intervened and put us in each other’s lives at the most perfect and unexpected time… and we can’t wait to see what He has planned for our future.
